As long as these tests are accompanied by sex education, then maybe this isn't such a bad idea. Otherwise I could see a few flaws with passing out baskets of condoms and offering free urine tests to teens. Access to all these anonymous hand-outs seems to encourage sexual activity, which is why the school needs to be prepared to show graphic pictures of violent herpes outbreaks to combat any loose-thinking.

To be honest, I don't know how this stuff became so wildly popular in the first place. But this girl is crusading to eliminate it from every school. A funnier note from the aticle is when it recommends washing your hands for at least twenty seconds. But it also suggests singing 'Happy Birthday' twice, if for some reason you struggle with a roadblock while counting.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger right? Give it a couple months until 90% of the student body and staff all have lice because it isn't labeled as a pressing health concern. It makes you wonder if schools have struck a marketing deal with an anti-lice shampoo company to help offset some budget deficit.

Not really sure what business of his it is if she was pregnant, but maybe that's just how he gets his rocks off. Well, she was NOT pregnant, just publically humiliated by school officials. Here's the best part...the school isn't releasing any information! They're just telling everyone that free HIV tests will be available because students may have been exposed to the virus. No one knows how, or who, but all the kids are freaking out. Talk about an uneasy environment to try and focus on learning. Anyone could be HIV positive, but no one is sure how it's possible! Not the best PR piece for a principal.

It took the town to be in uproar, seventeen girls getting pregnant at once, and the principal quitting until this district finally submitted to the fact that teens sex is rampant at this school. Giving kids rubbers will hopefully but a blanket on things for a while, but my guess says when the STD statistics get reported, it's not gonna shock too many people.

I know we can't expect school nurses to differentiate between the stomach flu and being 9-months pregnant, but maybe next time we can give everyone involved the proper training to avoid girls from throwing out their babies. Luckily, she didn't flush it down a toilet like the Texas girl. But in the future, maybe the school can MapQuest the nearest hospital for these teen girls.

You would think a school nurse has access to any drugs she wants. Couldn't she go into business crushing up Ritalin and moving that around her neighborhood? A kid can run around school stabbing people in the neck with a needle and only get suspended? Isn't there a school psychologist that can red flag this behavior as mentally insane? It's normal to call people names or to knock their books from their hands. But I think poking people with syringes is borderline cause for further evaluation. Unless he was giving everyone free flu shots, which would be great!

Until dead birds start showing up in the garbage cans outside, I'd say go ahead and resume classes. Just take a few minutes and debrief everyone by reminding them to cover their mouths and wash their hands. And don't throw snotty kleenex at people.
