Florida teen walks for graduation twice in high school prank

It probably makes you feel like your administration cares when you can walk across stage completely casually and unrecognized. This teen will certainly have an edge on his competition when applying for college and/or employment. With graduation rates in Florida gradually on the rise, you have to wonder if it's because some kids have two diplomas!

Superglue in locks costs school 1000s

Superglue got pranksters at Pioneer High School in a super sticky situation...if they get caught, of course. But in this case, students didn't use the adhesive properly, they didn't glue anything together! Students used toothpicks to put superglue in the locks on the classroom doors, so students and teachers could not enter or exit. It's also sticky for the school because this prank will cost $15,000 to repair.

Seniors leave water filled cups

A sea of 14,000 water filled cups were left in the cafeteria with a thank you note to custodians and $50 for clean up. The cups spelled out "2010." Fifteen students fessed up and were sentenced for 3 hours community service, perhaps because it took 3 hours for the janitors to clean up.

Lambs at Green High School in Ohio

Two 3-day-old lambs were found in an Ohio high school field with 2010 written on their sides as some kind of prank from members of the graduating class. School administrators are reviewing their video camera footage to find the culprits. Even though the pranksters were not found yet, the lambs’ home was. The unharmed lambs came from an Ohio Farm and were brought safely back to their mother, where they need to be to ensure survival.

Even though this is a small prank compared to others, can playing jokes ever be acceptable in school?

'Joke' letter from principal sent to parents

Story: 'Joke' letter from principal sent to parents

What do you get if you mix the satire of Jonathan Swift with a heartless Principal? A letter was drafted that basically criticizes under-achieving students, children with allergies, lazy parents, and just about any other sensitive subject schools may be faced with. [See letter here] Then, in some oversight or glitch, the press-release-like note went out to all the moms and dads in the school. You can see why a couple of nerves may have been struck. I guess all it takes to be principal in this school is complete lack of compassion for the families who attend.

Student faces charges in Brecksville High School food fight

Story: Student faces charges in Brecksville High School food fight

This is not the first time children have been arrested for a food fight. Throwing spaghetti serves the same hard time as throwing punches in some states. We can only hope that the leader of this cafeteria gang doesn't make accomplices during her suspension...only to terrorize the city with pizza boats and cinnamon sticks.

Seniors figure out how to spell "ASS" from "CLASS" in yearbook photo prank

Story: Senior class photo spells trouble

I am sure this stunt has been pulled before, but it doesn't take a genius to spend a few seconds reviewing the picture before it goes out to print for close to 700 seniors. Afterall, the giant letters A-S-S happen to be right in the front row! All three students are suffering consequences, but as one senior points out, "...C and L ran off. That’s not ass’s fault. That’s C and L’s fault." I guess he was wrong to assume the school would act fairly about this.

Mandarin High coach charged in 'prank'

Story: Mandarin High coach charged in 'prank'

What did we learn here? The next time you try to rob a convenience store with a mask on and a shotgun pointed at the clerk (only to realize you're not getting into the safe), you CAN'T just go back in a couple minutes later and claim you were joking. If that were true I don't think over-crowding in prisons would be a problem.

Teacher dares student to eat dead fly for good grade

Story: Dead Fly + Dare - 'A' Grade = Angry Student

I didn't know some schools were modeling education reform off of the show Fear Factor. Next time this teacher dares kids to eat dead bugs for an A on a test, maybe he should tell them he was joking before he actually grades the test.

Team Photo Lands Football Players In Trouble

Story: Team Photo Lands Football Players In Trouble

While posing for a team photo, a bunch of the players made "inappropriate sexual hand gestures." This pic gets distributed by parents and booster clubs all around town. Then local businesses hang it up to promote the team. Apparently no where in this process does a responsible adult ever take them time to review the final photo to make sure it's good to go. And for that, the kids win (even though they are being forced to miss a game).

LA school not happy with Bruno

Sacha Baron Cohen decided to make a pit-stop at an LA high school football practice for a photo shoot. He has already made Bruno into a household name for putting people in uncomfortable, often homosexual, situations. This team was no exception. The photos, which are featured in GQ, are currently embarassing officials from the district. The kids, however, love it. Go figure!

Hundreds barred from SoCal high school graduation due to phony ticket scam

Tickets to high school graduation are hot items in some places. They are in such demand at Kennedy High in LA that attendees are forced to bootleg them and make their own. So the good and honest parents of many of these children did not get to see their kids graduate because the fake ticket-holders filled up all the seats first. I wonder if you can get away with this the next time the Eagles reunion tour comes through town?

Ohio yearbook has hidden F-word on cover

Story: Shaker Heights, Ohio yearbook cover contains F-word hidden in high school student's artwork

This is not the first time the F word has slipped into a yearbook this year. Sneaking little gags like this past yearbook editors is an age-old tradition. And this school takes the prize. Not only did it remain a secret until after graduation, but they got the F-word on the front cover! Well played Shaker Heights, well played.

BREAKING: Racism Alive and Well in the UK

DetentionSlip.org exclusive: Swastika-loving seniors pull of prank

Question: When does a senior prank become hate speech? Answer: When it involves the most notorious symbol of racism. Thanks to a reader tip, we learned that high school seniors in England still believe in the harassment of anyone not associated with the Aryan nation. We are still investigating to find out if they are pumping the locker room showers with Zyklon-B poisonous gas.

Students arrested in Stamford High School prank

Story: Students arrested in Stamford High School prank

The following items were used to trash the school: spray paint, shampoo, silly string, marbles, glitter, markers, and pages ripped from a porno mag. Since not too many high school seniors are huge arts-and-crafts fanatics, there is probably a clerk at a nearby Party City who figured something was up. Either that or he thought they were re-creating scenes from Home Alone.

70 Rochester students punished after senior prank

Story: 70 Rochester students punished after senior prank

Basically everything with wheels rolled though the halls of this high school. The perps are not allowed back on school grounds, but can still attend graduation. Something tells me these seniors probably don't have much of an interest in going back to school anyways. Oh, and we heard there is videotape. So if someone sends a link to tips@detentionslip.org you can have your prank featured on this site!

Iowa student gives classmates rat poison

Story: Iowa student gives classmates rat poison; all OK

Try some ketchup and mustard it helped us! According to the article, it is unclear why the student brought the rat poison to school. What we are confused about, is why seven classmates decided to eat the stuff?! Maybe it looked better than the cafeteria lunch that day.

New Trier caper: Beer photo slipped in yearbook

A picture of a beer can in the yearbook is rattling this high school. No one can figure out how it got there. More shockingly, the drinking age is 21- So how could a minor obtain a can of beer?! We are going to uncover every stone to help the yearbook editor solve this mystery.

Students suspended after ‘mass’ flip-flop prank

Story: Area students suspended after ‘mass’ flip-flop prank

If only flip-flops were the only problem facing our schools. Any student caught breaking this dress code policy was slapped with a 2-day suspension. "Thirty Helens agree that sensible shoes make sense." Good thing this principal doesn't allow comfort in school.

San Diego students spell '09' in desks, chairs

Story: San Diego students spell '09' in desks, chairs

This is great! Senior prank season is one of our favorite times of the year at DetentionSlip. Even though these students were caught, they managed to move almost 400 desks out on to the field and spell '09' with them. I would say from a furniture moving point of view, that's some pretty efficient muscle. Seniors- email us pictures and stories of your best school pranks to tips@detentionslip.org!
