This year for Christmas, the child of Christ will be receiving notes from children instead of Santa Claus. These kids are going to be in for a heartbreaker when they realize that neither Santa or baby Jesus exist! The little girl was all ready to sing a Christmas song by Alvin and the Chipmunks in her school talent show, until she was reminded that Christmas does not exist anymore. Years ago, Jesus and Santa got together and decided they needed to evaluate some of their marketing strategies. The end result was a compromise in which both parties felt that to avoid class-action law suits, it would be financially beneficial to remove their products from public schools. And that's when we substituted the word "holiday" into everything.

Anything that has any resemblance to either Christmas or religion was scratched off the inventory list at this elementary school. This includes Santa, candy canes, stockings, basically anything green or red. We've already accepted that we can't call it "Christmas" in schools anymore, but now we're stripping away all holiday spirit? At this pace, I give it about ten years until children don't even get this day off from school.

What a way to ring in the Christmas spirit, by leaving a class of 7-year olds in tears after telling them there is no such thing as Santa. For some reason this teacher thought that these 25 students best hear it from a trusted adult, rather than a deceiving parent. The plan actually backfired when the kids realized there is no incentive to be naughty or nice, so they became disruptive or the rest of the day. (This is, of course, once they were done crying.)

District Prohibits Christmas Colors

District Prohibits Christmas Colors

I wasn't sure how far this Christmas thing was going to be taken. You'll find plenty of schools that have already banned Christmas cards, Christmas songs, and Christmas plays. I'm not even sure there is a school district left that doesn't refer to Christmas Break as "Winter Break." But prohibiting Christmas colors?

Green and Red have somehow arbitrarily been chosen to represent the holidays. They have absolutely no religious meaning. They in no way promote Jesus or Christian beliefs. They are colors for crying out loud! This school district not only promoted 'white' napkins and plates, but reminded the students not to wear green or red to their parties. Did they go into their desks and pull out all the green and red Crayola's?

We can't possibly ask all of our schools to not even acknowledge one of the most celebrated holiday's of the year. We're dumbing these kids down so much they won't even realize why they can't say Merry Christmas to a classmate.
