Who exactly do we need to fear? The students or the teachers? I am scratching my head trying to come up with a good reasons an elementary school teacher needs to keep a gun in her drawer. This example is really reflective of the state of education right now. It's a shame that parents cannot feel comfortable leaving their children at school anymore.

One parents puts it best, "It seems to be a ridiculous punishment for something that didn't even occur." The school also went through everyone's cell phones to see who was forwarding the plan via text message. I personally would have suspended anyone I saw that day who even looked like they might toss a piece of food. This behavior cannot be tolerated and we must come down harshly on it. Way to flex your power.

When school was fun I don't think this was an issue. When students were treated like people they enjoyed going to school. Now that they've been sedated and every day is just the potential for something going wrong, it's no wonder the dropout rates are sky-rocketing every year.

How about just have the school step in and help this mother out. Give the kids some shampoo and laundry detergent samples to take home for crying out loud.

Developing Story: With over a dozen bomb threats at Governor Mifflin High School over the last two months, students and parents have all seen the downside to increased panic and security. Most threats have been found in school bathrooms, but none have lead to any suspects or even the sense of real danger. The following list details the daily/weekly routine of these students:-All student enter the front doors only each morning with photo IDs and metal detector search
-Students gather in cafeteria before class starts
-ID required to use the bathroom
-Periodic locker searches
-Cameras posted outside bathrooms
-Meetings and assemblies to gather students and parents
-Canceled after-school activities
-Silent lunches
-No over-sized backpacks, purses, or instrument cases
The list goes on. What is alarming is the there are inmates in L.A. County prisons that have more rights than these students. An inside source informs DetentionSlip.org that the school has pretty much been on lockdown for two months. Parents have even started at website at BustaCreep.com to help resolve this ongoing headache. While we can only hope that these hoaxes turn out to be nothing, it is still a shame that many children are forced to grow up in a constant state of fear and panic. We will continue to bring updates from this school district as we receive them.

One thing is for sure, I don't think these kids will have any problems breaking out of prison when they get there. If they're able to come up with such an elaborate plan at the age of nine... It's too bad this teacher will probably suffer from post-traumatic stress and never be able to channel these creative minds into anything productive.

This isn't exactly like a Starburst wrapper or missing glove. This was a 60-pound human boy who was overlooked. Last I check there's not a lot of hiding places on school busses. You're either in the seat, or under the seat. It sounds to me like the driver was in a hurry to get to happy hour.

Evidently, since we developed an arbitrary day that we can play jokes on each other, this kid thought a bomb threat to a school would just be laughed off. Well it turns out that over 100 faculty, 1100 students, 2000 parents, and oh yes, the local law enforcement, didn't see the humor in this one. Sorry buddy, make next year just put a "kick me" sign on someone's back.

The school was having problems with other local teens sneaking in and getting free educations. They also have plans to start the school day one hour earlier to account for the long lines outside just to get in the building now that everyone will be carded.

It doesn't seem like a simple mistake that this kid had a glock and a 9mm in his backpack. And his dad must have been asleep at the wheel when he let his kindergarten kid get out of the house with these two loaded weapons. Whatever happens to kids just pretending they were making guns with their hands and pointer-fingers.
