In the beginning

A bill has been introduced in the Indiana State Senate that would allow teaching of creationism as an option in Indiana's public schools as part of the science curriculum. Education and schooling are not the same thing. Education comes from multiple sources (parents, friends, church, Snoop Dog, etc.) but public schooling should actually base science curriculum on....wait...science. For folks that don't really get what a theory is in science, it is not the same as personal theories, like, "I have a theory that the earth is at the center of the universe," or " the sun really does revolve around the earth...you see it rise and fall every day!"

Girl reprimanded for singing National Anthem

A 16yr old African American girl was "reprimanded" by her principal after some fans complained they didn't like the "style" of her rendition of the National Anthem.

School Fire One Day Before School Started

Seems like someone didn't want to go back to school! Just one day before classes started at an Indiana elementary school, the playground set was destroyed by a fire. The fire started around 2:30am and was set with the aid of old books.

One Indianapolis native decided to wear his Colts jersey instead. Since students don't have rights inside of public schools, he was immediately told that he was disobeying the principal. 5,000 students at this high school are left wondering if their school supports the Neo-Nazi movement after a white-supremacist group was able to run an ad in their newspaper. This is when a faculty adviser needs to do their job and proofread everything before it goes into print. The same thing happened a week ago in San Fransisco. Who knew that hate groups got their news from high school journalists?

Rather than using conventional discipline or techniques you've learned in training, taping a kids mouth shut sounds like something an 18-year veteran teacher would try and get away with. Too bad his parents, administration, and the school board looks poorly upon something like this. Since the boy is a minor, it has not been released whether or not he had pre-pubescent facial hair that was painfully ripped off in the process.
