Posting Mistake On eBay Costs School District

Story: Posting Mistake On eBay Costs Pa. School District

Next time you place a $60,000 trailer for auction online, make sure you enter a minimum bid! Some lucky, internet-savvy, consumer just picked up this beauty for only $1.00!! Talk about a turn-around on your investment. I wonder what else they are liquidating (besides the job of the person responsible for this mistake)?

Bus Driver Urges Students to Throw Snow at Classmate

Story: Bus Driver Urges Students to Throw Snow at Classmate

Define Professionalism: Offering to pay a group of middle school students $20 each if they pelted snowballs at another boy when he gets off the bus. It is hard to imagine what grudge was trying to be fulfilled here, but something tells me AT LEAST ONE person picked on this lady when she was a kid. The odds were in the poor boy's favor to lose this battle, but if you're a betting person, put your money on the driver getting fired.

Teen hid gun in school ceiling, planned 'harm'

Story: Police: Teen hid gun in school ceiling, planned 'harm'

To show you how 'in tune' this boys parents were with his life, police also found two assault rifles, 200 rounds of ammo, and six marijuana plants in his closet. I'd say that's a little more intense than stumbling across a couple of stashed Playboys. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be seeing him in our public schools any time soon.

School authorities were tipped off when they found nicely chopped piles of wood stacked behind the building.

Columbus Teacher Accused Of Choking Student

Story: Columbus Teacher Accused Of Choking Student

Confusing her 6-inch Italian melt sub for a third graders neck, this teacher went for the gold. Problem is, parents don't like when teachers choke their child.

Student accused of urinating in drink

Story: Hartford student accused of urinating in drink

Are no adults around when a teenage boy pulls out his thing and starts peeing into a Gatorade bottle? And shouldn't the victim know that unless he was drinking hot chocolate, there's really no reason his drink should have been warm. On a related note, the school is also warning students not to accept Baby Ruth bars from their peers.

School districts ban appliances for teachers

Story: School districts ban appliances for teachers

"You don't want to see me before I've had my morning coffee." Well, we are about to find out. Teachers won't be allowed to have microwaves, coffee makers, refrigerators, etc. in their classrooms anymore. So what does this mean? For starters, it will save the schools tens of thousands of dollars in energy costs. The downside is that it will force lazy teachers to walk their butts to the teachers lounge anytime they need something. So is it really all that bad of a change?

Teacher suspended for making sex calls to former student

Story: School Board suspends Plantation Elementary teacher

I am glad this guy took the grenade, because we had no idea you weren't allowed to call 16-year old students and masturbate while on the phone with them. As to not be too much of a creep, he also talked about his motorcycle with the young teen girl. Wow, what a heart-throb!

8th grader arrested for selling Ecstasy

Story: 8th grader arrested for selling Ecstasy

Too bad for him, recess wasn't long enough for the drug to wear off. Instead the 12 and 13-year old girls he sold pills to started having seizures and were reported to be "freaking out." Who would have thought? I always thought marijuana was the gateway drug. But maybe for todays generation it's something a little more accessible, say Red Bull for example?

Use of Taser on 12-year autistic boy being investigated

The argument isn't about whether or not the boy deserved to be tased. People are curious as to why adult officers should be using these devices on children at all. Sure they might kick and scream, but what ever happened to putting someone in the "full-nelson?" They're used so haphazardly at times, that I'm sure in time we'll start letting teachers carry these weapons as well.

Fewer students turn pages of yearbooks in digital age

Story: Fewer students turn pages of yearbooks in digital age

If they were smart, schools would get on top of this and buy a bunch of domain names to begin hosting digital yearbooks for the future. Statistics are showing that some yearbook sales have dropped as much as 50%. Tough break for Jostens, but it seems teens aren't as stimulated by these over-priced memoirs as they are by the internet and cell phones.

N.J. Football Coach's Appeal to Pray Denied

Story: N.J. Football Coach's Appeal to Pray Denied

Everybody knows a team that prays together, stays together. (Except when they graduate and move on.) This coach asked the court for permission to say a prayer before his games, and he was rejected. Either the judge is an alumni of his rival team, or he feels that God isn't going to help him win games, but rather hard work and discipline instead.
